ㅇ On the afternoon of the 22nd, the
Presidential Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation identified the current
status of Covid-19 in the northern region and discussed the direction of the
New Northern Policy in the post-corona era.
ㅇ The specific progress of the Committee’s
policy direction this year was also shared in this discussion, including △
Upgrade of the New Northern vision and strategy △ Expansion of financial
platforms to expand into the northern region △ Diversification of cooperation
into areas of innovation growth and leading industries △ Creating mid- to
long-term growth engines through northern economic cooperation.
ㅇ It was also announced that expansion into
Russia and technological exchanges will be supported by KRIC this year,
through domestic start-ups and the selection of innovative companies,
particularly in the areas of AI, 5G, IoT, biomedical, and robots.
ㅇ In addition, it was announced that
cooperation will be strengthened in areas such as healthcare, science and
technology, and agriculture, where the possibility of cooperation has
increased due to the recent outbreak of Covid-19. Our experiences and data
will be shared through video conferences for the time being, and if conditions
improve, we will support domestic start-up and innovative companies and smart
farm companies to enter the northern countries through the dispatch of
healthcare missions and training programs.
